Water Baby

Stella developed an instant passion for swimming (and a flare for drama when you try to take her out of the pool)!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

It's Nate's 32nd birthday tomorrow, and we are going to SXSW to celebrate.
After 8 years of being together, I can safely say Nate is one of a kind! He is an amazing husband, friend, and father, plus he's pretty easy on the eyes! I feel lucky that I found him, because I feel he was put on this earth to make my life complete.
Thanks for being born, love!! (and props to Susie for birthing my soul mate)

Stella and the Lively Weekend

Stella went to Houston to see her Auntie Ally, Auntie Lauren, and Uncle Matt, plus Annie, Luke, Belle, Seth, Maka, and PopPop! She played and played...
Then on the way home, she went to the Star of Texas Livestock Show and Rodeo...
She LOVED the animals, but cried when she had to leave them!
Then to top it off, she learned to pull herself to standing. AGHHH! I think Luke taught her a thing or two when we weren't looking :)

You Can't Handle the Tooth!

Stella's first tooth has broke through, but if you want to see it, GOOD LUCK! Her tongue has been hired as a guard--to protect it from prying eyes.

Hazardous: Small Objects

today was quite eventful...we worked on moving stella's room and putting together baby boy's. the experience brought me to tears, b/c i am hormonal and weirdly attached to stella's original nursery.

later on in the afternoon we were all in stella's new room working, while she was playing with a basket of books. in the midst of our mess, she found something small in the carpet and put it in her mouth. she was turning blue and not breathing so nate turned her upside down and hit her on her back over and over. she started breathing, but not continuously. amanda called 911 while nate continued, and mom and dad helped. i was just a basket case and couldn't keep it together. eventually stella started crying really hard, which told us that
A.) she was breathing and
B.) whatever she swallowed went down, because it sure didn't come up

ems arrived shortly after, so we all greeted them in the front yard. they examined her and said her lungs were clear, her stomach was fine, and her vitals were good. they said whatever it was would most likely come out via #2. their exact words, of course ;)

anyway, the rest of the night stella has been doing fine. nate, mom, dad, amanda, and i are all more tramatized than she is! i am just so thankful for my precious girl!!!!

Stella's Favorite Thing...

Is a plastic little girl from a giant generic lego set. She carries it everywhere she goes, and even prefers meals with her toy in hand. It's kind of adorable.
